Paola went in to the allergist 2 weeks ago to get a blood test to see the extent of her allergies. She had this done about a year ago, and we were hoping that some of the reactions would measure as less severe so as to give us hope that she will outgrow them. We got the results today, and the news was good. Both the peanut and wheat allergies, while still testing as positive, had lessened in severity which is a good sign if only because if there is accidental exposure it is likely her reaction will be less severe. And even better news - she tested negative to both shellfish and eggs so it seems like she has outgrown those allergies. (It is ironic though that those are the exact foods that Kobe and Alessi are allergic to now). Paola was super excited about being able to eat shrimp but could care less about the egg. We will probably be cautious about introducing these foods again though since there is a small chance that the blood test could be wrong or that she could still be sensitive to the foods. But overall, we feel blessed that there are a few things less to worry about.
Woo Hoo...How nice of Paola to so sacrificially give up those allergies to her sister and brother :). I am so happy for her!
